With all that’s going on in the world, it’s hard to feel normal, whatever normal really is.  Life has been disrupted and it’s more important than ever to take care of yourself, both mentally and physically.

While many things are beyond our control right now, the way we eat really isn’t.  Sure, we want comfort food during this stressful time, but well-balanced meals should also be part of the equation.

So, what should you be eating?

Foods to Eat When Stressed

  • Warm, soothing foods, such as a cup of tea.
  • Dark chocolate
  • Whole-grain carbohydrates
  • Bananas
  • Fatty fish
  • Water
  • Milk
  • Nuts
  • Oranges and other foods with Vitamin C
  • Avocados
  • Leafy Greens

Foods to Avoid When Stressed

  • Caffeine
  • Alcohol
  • Refined Sugar

While I’m sure we’re all eating the foods we should avoid, please remember to incorporate healthy foods, as well.  Also, be sure to drink enough water and get plenty of sleep!
